Farndon Fields Farm Shop has an excellent opportunity for someone with experience of previously working in a buying role to join our Buying Team. We are able to be flexible with working hours to suit the right applicant and the needs of our customers.
We love creating an exceptional local food shopping experience for our customers and we are passionate about inspiring our team to develop and expand their knowledge, this role will present an opportunity to learn about a family run, farm retail business with a difference.
Farndon Fields is an award winning family run business which was established in 1983 by Kevin and Milly Stokes. We strive to be the ultimate destination for local food and farming and take pride in every product we grow, produce and sell in our farm shop. We are located on the edge of Market Harborough and currently consist of a 500-acre arable farm, a large farm shop with a butchery, deli, garden and a restaurant, employing a team of 75 people.
This role will add to and complement our team of buyers. Our philosophy is to sell top quality seasonal food using the produce that have been grown on our farm and fantastic local suppliers. Our Farm shop has a variety of products that have been grown and made on site, sourced locally, chosen from around the UK or specially selected from further afield. This includes our homegrown produce, local meat, bakery products and grocery range. We are passionate about exceeding our customer’s expectations by making and sourcing outstanding quality products. You will share our passion for food and take pride in developing supplier relationships to create a fantastic customer experience.
This is a job to be proud of, not only do we offer development and flexibility in this role, you will be able to foster new ideas for products and influence our buying strategy to develop our seasonal product range. Confidence and Time Management are key to this role as you will be required to negotiate prices with suppliers and manage a full portfolio of products and stock using our ordering system.
Milly manages and works with our existing buyer, she says ‘we pride ourselves in being ahead of the farm retail market and understand what our customers want. We work as part of a team and are excited about introducing a fresh perspective to our buying strategy.’
The working hours will be an average 24 hours a week initially and we can be flexible on days, this role will work with another buyer who currently works 3 days a week. We are looking to cover 5 days a week. Your working days may vary depending on season, events and promotions.
